The Brocklesby Estate - Lincolnshire - Development Surveyor

Job Description:

This role is based at our Estate Office in Brocklesby, DN41 8PN, and could be full or part-time.

Brocklesby is a large traditional but diversified and progressive landed estate, encompassing in-hand farming, let farms, residential and commercial property, forestry, renewable energy, minerals, development, heritage assets, sporting, and off-estate investments.

Due to increased workload and a desire to expand activity in this sector, we seek a second colleague to focus on commercial, asset management, planning and development.

The main remit is adding and creating capital and income value through identifying, nurturing and completing projects on the Estate, of differing scales and timelines.

A cross-section of the work might involve: redundant traditional farm building complexes, housing plots, covenants, letting ex-farm sheds for commercial uses, caravan/classic car/ container storage, building out barn conversions and newbuild pensioner housing, disposal of historic suburban reversionary assets, redeveloping various former leisure assets, seeking allocations for employment and housing land; developing a small light industrial estate, associated finance and taxation etc.

The candidate will be a bright, buzzy, dynamic, progressive, commercially-minded, entrepreneurial and strategic thinker with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. A key member of the core senior management team, they will work in a collegiate style, with the owner, managing director, finance director, development surveyor, farm manager, property manager and assistant agent.

The role would appeal to someone with a rural practice background and a development ‘bent’ or a GP/ P & D background with an interest in rural.
