About us

CLM is an independent firm of rural Chartered Surveyors located in the South East. We provide traditional land agency services including estate management, preparation of agri-environment grants and planning advice alongside rural business consultancy and environmental services. We pride ourselves on delivering a first-class service, but we’re friendly, down-to-earth people.

Our land agency team are involved with exiting new and existing projects within a diverse business portfolio. We are looking for individuals with genuine enthusiasm for the varied workload that comes with land agency and have a pragmatic and commercial mindset.

Meanwhile our ecology team are at the forefront of natural capital projects as a new and expanding sector, while also keeping abreast of new farm and rural business grants.

From our office in East Sussex, we help clients as varied as family farms, landed estates and property developers maximise the potential of their assets.

We now have an opportunity for a Graduate Surveyor or Newly Qualified Surveyor to join our dynamic business.

What we can offer

You’ll be given responsibility early, getting the chance to work on a broad range of projects alongside your colleagues who will provide you with support where needed. This could also include working on opportunties you identify or wish to pursue. Responsibilities might include but are not limited to:

  • Dealing with day-to-day management and maintenance of commercial and residential property on a number of privately owned Estates in the South-East.
  • Managing landlord and tenant relationships for agricultural, commercial and residential properties.
  • Assisting with the delivery of a rural business consultancy services including compensation claims, planning and diversification, tenancies and agri-environment grants.
  • Providing direct rural business support including the preparation of financial budgets, practical farm and estate management and succession planning.
  • Staying updated with relevant laws, regulations and industry.

About you

The ideal candidate will:

Either be a graduate or postgraduate with an RICS accredited degree; alternatively they may already be RICS qualified.

Be able to work collaboratively with a range of clients and stakeholders and support colleagues to deliver high quality work.

Hold proficient IT skills in Word, Excel & PowerPoint and have some practical experience in land management or agriculture.

Have access to their own vehicle and hold a clean full UK driving licence.
