Job description:

Batcheller Monkhouse:

Batcheller Monkhouse are an expanding firm of Chartered Surveyors and Land Agents based in the South East offering an exceptional “hands-on” service to a wide range of property owners and occupiers.

Our Telecoms Department, based in Tunbridge Wells, is one of the UK’s foremost specialists in the telecommunications industry.  We are responsible for advising property owners (not operators) on all matters relating to wired and wireless telecommunication equipment installed on, over or under their property.

Job description:
We expect you to be familiar with, but not necessarily have a good working knowledge of, the main issues relating to commercial leases; the Landlord and Tenant Act 1954; and, the Telecom Code.

The role that you will undertake will be wide and involve:  rent reviews; lease renewals and re-negotiations; mast and portfolio sales and management; and, Code Power issues relating to the moving or removal or telecom apparatus from development sites.

You will be expected to liaise closely with clients, their solicitors and some agents. You will be consistent, professional and organised, and have good letter and report writing skills.

Although the role is office based, you will be dealing with sites across the whole of the UK, but predominantly in England, and as such you will be prepared to travel when appropriate.

You must have excellent communication and customer-service skills as you will be handling enquiries from existing and new clients.  You must also be confident in winning instructions, following leads and helping to pitch and tender for new jobs whilst also looking for opportunities for cross-selling across the firm.

You will be working within a busy multi-disciplined private practice and be prepared to link in and help with the other principal departments within the firm across the varied fields of agriculture, planning, rural estate management, and country house and cottage agency.

The ideal candidate will be MRICS qualified and we will consider applications at Surveyor, Senior Surveyor or Associate level, depending on experience.
